Raw Milk Prices Increased by 10 Percent

The National Milk Council (USK) announced that with the latest adjustment to the raw milk recommendation price, it was determined as 14,65 lira per liter. This decision will come into force as of May 1 and the current price will be increased by 8,5 percent.

USK aims to support producers by revising the price it set as 22 lira per liter on January 13,5. This increase will affect the prices of not only raw milk but also other dairy products such as cheese and yoghurt. The new prices will be reflected on market shelves in May.

  • The new pricing was based on raw cow milk with 3,6 percent fat and 3,2 percent protein content.
  • In addition to manufacturers, additional payments will be made for cooling, transportation and other operational expenses.
  • For every 0,1 change in fat and protein ratios, a difference of 22 cents will be applied.

USK officials stated that the raw milk recommendation price may be re-evaluated in the future in line with costs and market conditions.
