Pharmacy Technicians in Konya are Learning Sign Language!

Pharmacy technicians receive sign language training at Konya Metropolitan Municipality Vocational Courses (KOMEK) in order to communicate more easily with hearing-impaired customers.

The training started as a result of the Konya Pharmacy Technicians Association's application to KOMEK in order to establish a healthy communication with the hearing impaired people who come to the pharmacy and to provide better service.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay congratulated April 26 Pharmacy Technicians and Technicians Day and said that the training provided is very valuable for both pharmacy technicians and hearing-impaired citizens.

Mayor Altay said, “As the Metropolitan Municipality, we always support our disadvantaged citizens. In this regard, we quickly evaluated the sign language course request of Konya Pharmacy Technicians Association and started the necessary training. As a result of our course, our pharmacy technicians can now communicate better with their hearing-impaired customers. Happy April 26 Pharmacy Technicians and Technicians Day to all our pharmacy technicians. "I also congratulate all our pharmacy technicians who showed sensitivity on this issue and participated in the course," he said.

“WE ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH THE TRAINING WE RECEIVED”

Ezgi Arslan, one of the pharmacy technicians who participated in the training, stated that they were able to communicate better with their hearing-impaired customers thanks to the training they received, and said, “We become more happy when we see the satisfaction of the other person. We are very pleased with the education we received, we thank our teachers very much. We are in mutual satisfaction. “We thank everyone who contributed,” he said.

“WE ARE VERY HAPPY AS HEARING IMPAIRED PEOPLE”

Hearing impaired citizen Ayşenur Taşoluk stated that it is a great convenience for people to know sign language and said:

“Previously, as hearing impaired people, we had communication problems when we went to hospitals and pharmacies and we were uncomfortable with this situation. When we went to the pharmacy, we could not communicate when there was a conversation about any medicine. This bothered us when we had problems when we went to the pharmacy or somewhere else. Now, it makes us happy that the relevant people are learning sign language. As hearing impaired people, we are very happy. I would like to thank our Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay and all the pharmacy technician employees who received sign language training.”
