Nuclear Energy Reached Its Peak in China!

China's nuclear energy production will reach 2023 thousand gigawatt hours in 440, accounting for approximately 5 percent of total electricity production. This amount is equivalent to saving 130 million tons of standard coal and reducing 350 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

In the statement made by the China Atomic Energy Corporation, it was shared that there are 2023 nuclear power plants in operation in mainland China with a total installed capacity of 57 gigawatts by the end of 55, and 44 nuclear power plants approved or under construction with an installed capacity of 36 gigawatts.

The Atomic Energy Agency stated that China, which has the ability to build multiple nuclear power plants at the same time, has also developed expertise in engineering, construction and operation, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of nuclear energy.

China, which has accelerated its work on nuclear energy in recent years, is currently the country with the most nuclear facilities under construction in the world. While the world's first fourth-generation high-temperature gas-cooled reactor developed by China has entered commercial operation, steady progress has also been made in the construction of small modular reactors and fast reactors.
