Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya announced that during the Eid al-Fitr holiday (between 6-14 April 2024), inspections were carried out in all 103 metropolitan cities with 162 Mobile Migration Point vehicles, 30 of which are in Istanbul, under the coordination of the Governorships and the Directorate of Migration Management.
The captured irregular immigrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management and deportation procedures were initiated immediately.
In his post on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya said, “I want our dear nation to know that; Our operations, which we carry out with determination in every region of our country, will continue uninterruptedly to prevent irregular migration and immigrant smuggling. We will never give an opportunity to immigrant smugglers who try to make our country a target and transit route for irregular migration. I congratulate our governorships, our Directorate of Immigration Management and our police, gendarmerie and coast guard who carry out the inspections. May God not let a stone touch your feet. "Our nation's prayers are with you," he said.
