Historical Mardin is being cleared of reinforced concrete structures

Work has been initiated by the Department of Zoning and Urbanization of the Metropolitan Municipality in order to transfer the historical texture, which has survived for centuries with its historical stone structures, which reflects the cultural structure it contains, stitch by stitch, in its narrow stone streets, and which has survived to the present day as a historical heritage, to future generations in a more visible way.

The demolition of the 4-storey building and its 2 independent reinforced concrete extensions, the demolition of which was started by the teams in Teker District, has been completed.

In historical Mardin, which is visited by tens of thousands of local and foreign tourists every year, a total of 47 independent structures, including 189 buildings, have been demolished so far.
