CHP Deputy Takes the Blocking of the '23 April Anthem' to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

Altaca Kayışoğlu, who criticized the school principal's ban on the anthem by saying "There is pressure from the parents, the Ottoman Empire and our ancestors are being insulted", also asked whether the Ministry of National Education had a decision in this direction in his parliamentary question.

Pointing out that the success rate in education is constantly decreasing as a result of the policies followed by the AK Party governments and that this situation continues to deeply affect the future of our country, CHP Bursa Deputy Nurhayat Altaca Kayışoğlu said, "Those who studied and came to places with the opportunities provided by the Great Atatürk are against the polarization and polarization policies that they try to carry out through the Republic and the Ottoman Empire." The biggest response to this was given at the ballot box. Those who should teach our children objectively, without distorting our history, our republic, Ataturk's principles and revolutions and our national sovereignty, should know that they are hostile to the unity and solidarity of our country. While we talk about the great "Turkey Alliance", those who ignore our history and work with polarization policies refuse to understand the message our nation gave in the March 31 local elections. "We hope they will receive the message given by our people and take their hands off our children as soon as possible," he warned.

Altaca Kayışoğlu, who brought the problem experienced at Yunuseli Şahin Yılmaz Primary School to the agenda of the Parliament, included the following questions in the motion she prepared, requesting the Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin to answer:

“The 23 April March, which will be sung at the 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day celebration ceremonies at the Şahin Yılmaz Primary School in the Yunuseli District of Bursa's Osmangazi district, will be sung by the school principal; It is claimed that the decision was taken to change the entire event, saying "the Ottoman Empire and our ancestors are being insulted" and that the parents reacted to this incident. In this context;

  • Has your Ministry determined the celebration program for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day ceremonies? If determined, have the celebration programs been notified to the Provincial and District National Education Directorates?
  • Has your Ministry made a decision not to sing the April 23rd Anthem in ceremonies?
  • Is it within the scope of the school administration's duties, powers and responsibilities to make a decision in this direction?
  • “Will your Ministry conduct an investigation regarding the accuracy of the allegations in question?”
