THERE WERE MORE THAN 50 APPLICATIONS FROM 350 COUNTRIES

The World Wildlife Fund's One World Cities Challenge (OPCC) is the most comprehensive and longest-running competition in this field in the world, calling on the world's cities to lead the way for a climate-safe future. Nearly 12 municipalities from 6 continents have participated in the competition, which has been going on for more than 900 years. More than 2023 local governments from 2024 countries, 13 of which are from Turkey, applied to become global climate pioneers in the 50 – 350 period of the competition, which is held every two years. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality was entitled to become a national finalist after the evaluations.

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its studies on climate change with sensitivity, reports its climate studies on a standard data platform that allows international comparison. A jury of international experts evaluated the work carried out by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality on a number of issues, including climate targets, action plan and climate adaptation, and the results were shared.
