9. The Ship of Kindness Arrives in Egypt

ANKARA (IGFA) – The Goodness Ship, which is the 7th ship sent by Turkey to the victims of the conflict in Gaza since October 9, sent 3 thousand 774 tons of humanitarian aid materials, especially food, shelter, hygiene and baby supplies, from Mersin Port to El-Egypt, Egypt. He delivered it to Ariş Port.

The 9th Goodness Ship, which is the ship that has carried the most aid at one time under the coordination of the Turkish Red Crescent and AFAD, was welcomed at El-Ariş Port by Turkey's Cairo Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, Turkish Red Crescent, AFAD, UMKE and Egyptian Red Crescent teams. Ambassador Şen thanked those who contributed to the aid and said, “Turkey is truly at the forefront of the world league in humanitarian aid. "This is due to the generosity, philanthropy and helpfulness of the Turkish nation and our people, and the effective and sincere mobilization of organizations such as the Turkish Red Crescent, AFAD and our non-governmental organizations for the people of Gaza," he said.

9. The Kindness Ship has a total of 227 million dollars worth of aid materials, including 826 thousand food parcels, 700 tons of flour, 14 kg of gluten-free food, as well as 700 thousand 2 packages of baby diapers, 400 thousand sleeping bags and 6.1 tons of other miscellaneous aid. The materials will first be unloaded into the temporary storage area created by the Turkish Red Crescent expert staff in the El-Arish port area. It will then be delivered to Gaza via the Rafah Border Gate with trucks coordinated by the Egyptian Red Crescent.

“ALL AID IS ENTERING GAZA ONE BY ONE”

Ambassador Şen stated that they are in coordination with the Turkish Red Crescent and AFAD and that they aim to send a ship to Gaza at least every 2 weeks and said: “We are doing these in coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the security authorities, all of them. It is not an easy task, but our authorities have established such a good working system with their interlocutors that it works very well. Our hope is that our aid will continue to arrive in the most effective and rapid manner.

Türkiye IS THE COUNTRY THAT SENDS THE MOST AID TO GAZA

Turkish Red Crescent, which works to ensure that aid reaches Gaza quickly, has 4 personnel in Gaza, 4 in Egypt, 2 in the West Bank/Jerusalem and 1 in Jordan. 2 percent of the 737 tons of humanitarian aid-laden materials sent by the Red Crescent with the Kindness Ship in March reached Gaza. Although an average of 97 to 100 trucks are allowed to pass through Gaza per day under current conditions, up to 150 trucks of humanitarian aid are allowed into the region per day in normal times.
