İnegöl Municipal Council Held Its First Meeting with New Members

İnegöl Municipality April ordinary council meeting was held today. In the session, which was also the first meeting of the new parliament formed as a result of the March 31 Local Government Elections, 12 agenda items were discussed and decided.

“EVERYONE HERE REPRESENTS OUR CITIZENS”

In the council meeting at 10.00 under the chairmanship of Mayor Alper Taban, the 2023 administrative activity report was read to the council members and presented to the council. Then, President Alper Taban made the following statements in his opening speech: “The elections were completed with great maturity. We are having our first meeting with our new council. Here we will discuss and evaluate our agendas one by one. In the past, we received the majority of our agendas unanimously. Some of them were passed by majority vote. Ultimately, everyone here is a representative of our citizens. Once elected, I am everyone's Mayor, and you are everyone's council members. Here everyone can express their opinions freely. Today we came together to determine the tasks. "I already pray to God that the decisions we make will bring goodness to our city, our country and our nation."

NEW TERM VICE PRESIDENTS ARE ANNOUNCED

“Our parliament is represented by 37 members. The People's Alliance is present here with 28 Assembly Members. We will represent our citizens with 4 members of the Felicity Party, 3 council members of the Republican People's Party and 2 council members of the Re-Welfare Party. 7 of our friends will represent our city in the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Council. As of yesterday, we also determined our Deputy Mayors. Fevzi Dülger, Derya Uysal Tuncay, Hasan Aydın and Melih Ateş will be serving as Vice Presidents in the new term.”

FEVZİ DÜLGER BECAME VICE CHAIRMAN

After Mayor Taban's opening speech, the first meeting to establish the parliament started with the two youngest names, Melih Ateş and Ömer Faruk Baştürk, acting as clerks. Then, in the first agenda item of the parliament, the elections of the 1st and 2nd Deputy Speakers of the Assembly and 2 full and 2 substitute secretaries were held. In the closed vote on the names suggested by the parties, Fevzi Dülger was appointed as the 1st Deputy Chairman of the İnegöl Municipal Council and Halide Serpil Şahin was appointed as the 2nd Deputy Chairman. While Hatice Tuna and Selim Emre Aydın were elected as principal clerks, Ömer Faruk Baştürk and Cavit Dülger were elected as substitute clerks.

COUNCIL MEMBERSHIPS HAVE BEEN DETERMINED

In Article 2 of the Assembly, Council Member elections were held. As a result of the council member elections held by secret ballot, İnegöl Municipality Board Member; Melih Ateş, Bekir Bekil and Hatice Tuna were selected.

SPECIALIZED COMMISSIONS AND MEMBERS HAVE BEEN DETERMINED

Article 3 of the Assembly determined the specialized commissions and elected their members. It was decided to continue the 8 commissions established in the previous period, and to establish the Natural Disasters Commission as the 9th Commission. The commissions were composed of the following names in the open voting based on the names suggested by the parties:

Planning and Public Works Commission: Fevzi Dülger, Ayhan Güleç, Necmettin Çamlıdere, Faruk Toptaş, Özgür Öztürk

Plan and Budget Commission: Mehmet Sargın, Ali Toprak, Süleyman Yılmaz, Nadim Sancar, Murat Balakuş

Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Commission: Hasan Aydın, Hatice Tuna, Ömer Faruk Baştürk, Cihan Demirtaş, Murat Balakuş

Environmental Health Commission: Derya Uysal Tuncay, Hatice Tuna, Cavit Ünalan, Ali Akal, Özgür Öztürk

Food, Agriculture and Livestock Commission: Selahattin Külcü, Hasan Özdemir, Ferhat Mengi, Yüksel Usta, Fikret Bayram

Transportation and Traffic Commission: Mehmet Akif Kılıç, Bekir Bekil, Selim Emre Aydın, Ali Akal, Fatih Mücahid Berber

2023 ACTIVITY REPORT WAS ACCEPTED BY MAJORITY VOTE

In Article 8 of the Assembly, the 2023 activity report was discussed. During the discussion of the activity report, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Fevzi Dülger came to the podium and moderated the session. In the voting held after the activity report was read and the party groups expressed their opinions, the 2023 activity report was accepted by majority vote.
