Providing information about Kayseri industry, Mayor Büyüksimitci said, “Kayseri is a city with 5 universities, 5 Organized Industrial Zones, 1 Free Zone, and a province that both produces and makes serious contributions to the Turkish economy with its foreign trade volume of 6 billion dollars. Our work continues to bring two more organized industrial zones to our city. "When these works, which are in the project phase, are completed, we will have 7 OIZs in our city," he said.
Mayor Büyüksimitci announced that they exported approximately 3,5 million dollars from Kayseri to Indonesia and imported around 15 million dollars, stating that these figures were not sufficient and that foreign trade data would go much higher with mutual visits.
Reminding that Turkey and Indonesia cooperate in multilateral platforms such as the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, G20, D-8 and MIKTA, President Büyüksimitci said, “Indonesia, the largest economy in Southeast Asia, has a dynamic population, a growing middle-income class and “Its strong economic potential will contribute to the further development of our commercial relations,” he said.
Stating that the friendship between the two countries dates back to many years, President Büyüksimitci said, “I believe that your visit will further our relations between the two countries and lead to new cooperation projects. "As the Chamber, we are ready to provide whatever support we can to further strengthen these relations," he said.
Indonesia's Ambassador to Ankara, Achmad Rizal Purnama, emphasized that the trade volume between Kayseri and Indonesia is very low and that a stronger economic cooperation is needed, and said that they can cooperate with companies from Kayseri, especially in the fields of energy, health and construction, and that they are ready for all kinds of support.
