Special Children Planted Saplings in Izmir

Izmir Provincial Directorate of National Education organized a meaningful event on '21 March World Down Syndrome Awareness Day'.

As '21 March World Forestry Day' and 'World Down Syndrome Awareness Day' coincided on the same day, a sapling planting event was held under the coordination of Izmir Governorship. Special students, Izmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban and Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Accompanied by Ömer Yahşi, he planted the saplings in the soil.

'THE MEMORIAL FOREST OF MY DREAM'

At the event held in Menderes Kısık Location, a memorial forest called 'The Memory Forest in My Dream' was created by special students and special education teachers. Students and teachers showed great interest in the event.

At the event, special students from 12 special education schools attended the meeting with Izmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban and Provincial Director of National Education Dr. He planted saplings accompanied by Ömer Yahşi. The happiness of the students who brought the saplings to the soil together with their peers was visible in their eyes. At the ceremony, potted succulent plants produced by special students were presented to the protocol members.

109 SEEDLING DEDICATED TO OUR ÇANAKKALE MARTYRS

This year, as it was the 18th anniversary of March 109 Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Memorial Day, the sapling planting event, where 109 students with down syndrome came together to create a memorial forest, witnessed emotional moments.

12 special students from 109 special education schools, Izmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban and Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Together with Ömer Yahşi, he planted saplings in memory of our martyrs.

Sharing his thoughts on the subject, Izmir Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Ömer Yahşi said, “We are here today to give a beautiful voice from Izmir on the occasion of March 21, World Down Syndrome Day. On this special day, where the meaning of unity and cohesion is emphasized, we came together with our Governor and our special children at the sapling planting event. This year, as March 18 is the 109th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Memorial Day, our special children planted 109 saplings and created a commemorative forest that will be passed on to future generations. 'I would like to thank everyone who contributed.' he said.
