Parks in Bursa will be illuminated with 'Merinos'

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which has turned to renewable energy sources with projects such as energy production from waste, HEPP and SPP within the scope of combating climate change, has added a new one to these investments.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which has previously installed solar energy systems in many areas and turned them into power plants, is now equipping the roof of Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center with solar panels.

The facility, where 80 percent of its manufacturing has been completed, will have a production power of 3.15 MW when the remaining manufacturing is completed, and it is expected to produce 2 million 200 thousand KW of electricity annually, which can meet the electricity needs of approximately 5 residences.

The energy to be produced thanks to the solar panels will meet the entire consumption need of Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center, and the electricity needs of the lighting of Reşat Oyal Culture Park, Hüdavendigar City Park, Nation's Garden, Botanical Park and İnegöl Hikmet Şahin Kültürpark will be met with the remaining electrical energy from consumption. In addition, thanks to the renewable energy produced, approximately 9.000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions will be prevented annually. Thus, Merinos Factory, which not only provided employment and social contribution to the city for a while, but also met the electricity needs of the city through the generators it housed, will continue to contribute to the city by producing its own electricity in the same place years later.
