Good news for Artvin: Macahel Pass is included in the investment program

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that they will hold the tender for the Ankara-Kırıkkale-Çorum high-speed train line, which will connect the high-speed train line to the Black Sea, this year, and that they will start the Çorum and Samsun Line project next year. Noting that they have started the project work on the Samsun and Sarp Border Gate High Speed Train line, Minister Uraloğlu said, “Our work to include the Macahel Pass, which is an important project for Artvin, in the investment program continues. "Hopefully, we will start construction work in the coming period," he said. Uraloğlu emphasized that they have invested 22 billion lira in transportation in Artvin in 86 years and announced that they will start a new project that will raise the standard of the road between Hopa and Borcka.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu came to Artvin to make a series of contacts. He addressed the citizens in front of the AK Party Borcka District Headquarters. In his speech here, Uraloğlu emphasized that they have implemented important services all over Turkey and said, “Despite this, we have brought some needs to a certain level in some of our cities. However, we could not get it to the level we expected. "Unfortunately, one of them was our Artvin province," he said.

“We Are Completing Our Bridge Construction in Hopa in June”

Pointing out that the Eastern Black Sea region has difficult geographical conditions, Uraloğlu pointed out that the difficulty level has increased even more in Artvin. Uraloğlu said, “It is our duty to serve you who are waiting for this geography. Sometimes some of the work we do meets the needs of that day. The ratio may need to be reconsidered according to developing and changing needs. We have some such works in both Artvin and Borcka. We have a bridge construction in Hopa, as you know, it took a little long, but hopefully we will finish it in June. "It took longer because of the difficulty of the stream bed and ground, but hopefully we will finish it," he said.

Borcka Will Meet the Sea

Pointing out that there are important ongoing projects towards Borcka, Uraloğlu stated that they will launch new tenders soon. Uraloğlu said, “So we will have tendered the entire remaining part up to Borcka. "Therefore, when we finish this road, we will hopefully remove Borcka's main connection to the coast from your agenda," he said. Uraloğlu noted that another ongoing project is the Güreşen Bridge and said, “It is a truly technological bridge, and a beautiful bridge in terms of engineering. We also dealt with some problems during my term as General Directorate of Highways. It took time to solve those problems. Because there is a dam there, there is water, there are ground problems, etc., but we solved it and we continue the construction. Of course, Turkey crossing the continents, Turkey crossing the sea, we are aware that we are a little late on the Güreşen Bridge. "From now on, hopefully we will speed it up," he said.

“We Will Start Construction Works on the Macahel Pass Soon”

Referring to the Macahel Pass, Uraloğlu said that they approved the project and that a tunnel of approximately 6 kilometers will be built within the scope of the project. Pointing out that an escape tunnel should also be built within the scope of the tunnel, Uraloğlu said, “We are now in the process of including it in the investment program. Our headmen in Macahel came as a delegation when I was the General Manager. We talked and accelerated the project. When we review the current conditions there, we have some difficulty in including this 6 kilometer tunnel and 4-5 kilometer connection road in the investment program. As you know, we experienced an earthquake. We had a pandemic before that, there are these difficulties. Our friends are working on an alternative with a tunnel there. If we make it more feasible by taking your opinion and the opinions of all the administrators of Artvin, hopefully his project will not take a long time. We think we can finish it quickly and include it in the investment program immediately. "Hopefully, we will start construction work in the coming period," he said. Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu emphasized that they are working to bring service and said, “Our job is to serve you, to serve you under better conditions. It is normal that what was enough yesterday is not enough today. "In that sense, hopefully we will do our part together," he said.

“We Have to Serve You”

Minister Uraloğlu then met with representatives of non-governmental organizations. In his speech here, Uraloğlu emphasized that Artvin is one of the provinces with unique weight and said, “There are difficult natural conditions in the Eastern Black Sea region. When you come this way from Ünye, the land becomes a little harder and rougher. The peak point of this is Artvin. There are difficulties in serving these places. If we build 1 kilometer of road in the Konya plain at a cost of 1 unit, we will build 10 units in the Eastern Black Sea region. Maybe we will build 12-15 units in Artvin. No matter how much it costs, we will be at the point of meeting the need. "If we live here, we have to serve you," he said.

New Project Coming to Hopa-Borçka Road

Pointing out that Rize-Artvin Airport's passenger traffic exceeded 1 million last year, Uraloğlu said that the number of weekly flights reached 65. Uraloğlu underlined that Rize-Artvin Airport organizes an average of 10 flights per day and that they will continue investments without slowing down. Stating that they drove from Hopa to Borcka via the Black Sea Coastal road, Uraloğlu said, “We have a road from there to this side that is not at the standard we want. When we come from Borcka to Artvin, there is a road there, a significant part of which was due to dams built by DSI in the past. We see that there are some problems there. We see that the standard does not meet the expectations. There, we discuss the existing road and start the project work. "After the completion of the project work, we will plan whatever is necessary and implement it within the program," he said.

“We Made a Transportation Investment of 86 Billion Liras in Artvin”

Stating that they plan to raise the standard of Artvin entrance bridges, Uraloğlu said, “We also have the Olur-Ardanuç road opening to Erzurum. There are two dam plans in Şavşat. Along with the construction of the dams, we will also cover the Şavşat Road completely. We have made many investments so far. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, our transportation and communication investment in Artvin exceeded 86 billion lira. But we still have a lot of work to do and a long way to go,” he said.
