Bolu Southern Ring Road was put into service!

Bolu South Ring Road, which provides direct access to the living areas in the south of Bolu without entering Bolu city center, was put into service. Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz, General Director of Highways Ahmet Gülşen, public institution and organization officials, bureaucrats and contractor company representatives attended the opening ceremony held on Monday, March 18.

“We connected Bolu to its neighbors through divided roads”

Deputy Minister Boyraz stated that they have invested over 2002 billion lira for the transportation and communication infrastructure of Bolu since 54, and said that within the scope of highway investments, the length of the divided road was increased from 173 kilometers to 303 kilometers, the length of the bituminous hot mixture coating road was increased from 192 kilometers to 432 kilometers, and 192 kilometers of single roads were increased. He reported that the road was being improved.

Emphasizing that they connected Bolu to all its neighbors, including Ankara, Eskişehir, Bilecik, Sakarya, Düzce, Karabük, Çankırı and Zonguldak, with divided roads, Boyraz said, “Gerede-Yeniçağa-Bolu Road, Gerede-Çerkeş Road, Yeniçağa Mengen Road, especially the Bolu Mountain Tunnel.” “We have implemented important highway projects such as Kıbrısçık Ring Road and Çatakören Bridge.” said.

“We implemented transportation projects one by one in Bolu”

Boyraz underlined that thanks to the Bolu Southern Ring Road, they provide direct transportation without stopping at Bolu city center. Our Deputy Minister announced that a total of 167 million lira will be saved annually, including 38 million lira from time and 205 million lira from fuel, by shortening the transportation time with the fast, safe and comfortable transportation established in the region, and contributed to the protection of nature by reducing the carbon emissions of vehicles that harm the environment by 2 thousand 748 tons. He emphasized that it will be provided. Stating that with the project, they also built a 2,9 kilometers long and 5 meters wide bituminous hot mixture coated bicycle and walking path running parallel to the ring road and made it available to the people of Bolu, Boyraz said that they will carry out transportation projects that will pave the way for investments that will develop Bolu's tourism activities, agriculture and industry. He stated that they have implemented them one by one and will continue with new ones.

Traffic congestion is relieved with ring roads

Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager Gülşen stated that the Southern Ring Road will serve traffic at the standard of a 2×2 lane, bituminous hot mixture coated divided highway, and said that the project includes 30 bridge of 1 m and 2 at-grade intersections. Giving details about the project, Gülşen stated that 1 million 140 thousand cubic meters of earthworks, 6 thousand 500 cubic meters of concrete, 1.360 meters of bored piles and 85 thousand tons of bituminous hot mixture were produced. The General Manager added that they relieved the traffic congestion in city centers due to increasing vehicle ownership and mobility with the constructed ring roads.
