The Number of Disabled Civil Servants Working in the Public Sector Exceeded 70 Thousand

Speaking at the Ceremony for the Placement of Disabled People in Public Institutions held at the Ministry of Family and Social Services, Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said that with the appointment, they not only made disabled citizens employed, but also raised awareness on this issue. Minister Göktaş stated that an equal and accessible life for everyone will be possible if disabled citizens are more involved in daily life.

Minister Göktaş stated that many people who cannot receive education and training due to their disabilities and cannot go beyond their streets now feel freer both economically and socially, and that as the ministry, they have developed their social policies and continued their development journey without leaving anyone behind. He explained that they have taken important steps in domestic legislation, especially in the Constitution.

THE NUMBER OF DISABLED OFFICERS INCREASED APPROXIMATELY 20-fold IN 12 YEARS

Stating that the principle of equality in the Constitution as well as the positive discrimination principles stipulated by the regulations form the basis of employment policies for disabled people, Göktaş emphasized that the Disabled Public Personnel Selection Examination, which was launched in 2012, is the most important factor that ensures the increase in the number of disabled personnel working in the public sector.

Emphasizing that they will soon recruit 8 thousand more contracted personnel and expand our large family in order to provide more support to the earthquake zone and increase the quality of our services, Minister Göktaş noted that the details of the recruitment will be announced soon.
