BURSA (IGFA) – The sports facilities, which are the second phase of the Vakıf Bera City Park, which was brought to Yıldırım by the Metropolitan Municipality with the aim of making Bursa a green city again, were put into service with a ceremony. Located between Vakıf, İsabey, Şirinevler and Demetevler neighborhoods of Yıldırım, the facilities, which will also contribute to Kestel and Gürsu districts in a sports sense, contain two regular artificial grass football fields with spectator tribunes. The facilities, which include 800 basketball courts, one of which is 2 square meters in line with international standards, a volleyball court, halls where sports such as wrestling, boxing, gymnastics and karate can be performed, locker rooms, training classrooms and a parking area, provide a great opportunity for sports not only in Yıldırım but also in Bursa. will give further impetus to its development.
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Bursa Governor Mahmut Demirtaş, Bursa Deputy Mustafa Varank, Refik Özen, Ahmet Kılıç and Emel Gözükara Durmaz attended the opening ceremony of the sports facilities brought to the city with the contributions of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. , AK Party Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan, Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz, Ministry of Youth and Sports Investment Enterprises General Manager Prof. Dr. Süleyman Şahin, political party representatives and citizens attended.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that they were very happy to be companions with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who believed in young people and children. Stating that Vakıf Bera Sports Facilities alone are important for the city and district, Mayor Alinur Aktaş stated that they have provided many facilities such as football fields, gyms, taekwondo halls and archery halls all over the city. Stating that they provide most of these services with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mayor Aktaş said, “Bursa is growing and developing. Our children are involved in sports. Our Minister Osman Aşkın Bak will support the new facilities. This place is an area of 250 acres. This is one of the areas that give life to the region. First of all, we built the park with the participation of Murat Kurum. It is a park with different equipment areas. We wanted to bring a sports-related facility to this region, where Bursaspor's infrastructure facilities are also located. We spent 160 million TL at the current cost. There are not only football fields here. There are gyms and fitness areas. Our wheelchair basketball team plays its matches here. Our students prepare for university courses here. We implemented these with the support we received from our Ministry of Youth and Sports. I would like to thank our Minister Osman Aşkın Bak and his team. We will continue to worship the city. Explaining that there is a sports revolution all over Turkey, Minister Bak stated that they have provided sports facilities in all four corners of the city together with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. Stating that they are proud of the resulting works, Bak said, “I would like to thank Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş and Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz. The public garden and the sports facility next to it will serve the people of Bursa. We also brought Naim Süleymanoğlu facilities to Yıldırım. Our presidents are working, Bursa is becoming more beautiful. Bursa continues to be a sports city. As the Ministry of Youth and Sports, our biggest goal is to keep our children away from addiction. Bursa Deputy Mustafa Varank stated that sports facilities were added to Vakıf Bera City Park, making the area more useful. Stating that the young people who use these facilities will serve the country as successful athletes, artists and scientists, Varank said, “We added additional sports facilities to the park, which was previously opened. We do so many jobs and projects that our mayors call us every day for an opening. We love serving this country. We strive to develop these cities and districts by working together. While doing this, we do not discriminate between parties, we are trying to bring our services to 17 districts. We want to bring Bursa together with services. We do these things to properly fulfill the trust given to us by the people of Bursa. The one who knows how to work, the one who girds himself with a sword. Bursa Governor Mahmut Demirtaş stated that he was very happy to bring a huge sports complex to the city with Vakıf Bera sports facilities. Explaining that young people will benefit from the sports facilities they are interested in in sports facilities, Demirtaş said that the facility will make serious contributions to the sports culture of the city. Expressing that the trained athletes will achieve successes that will make our city and our country proud, Demirtaş wished that the facilities would be beneficial to Bursa.
Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz said that they brought many sports investments to the district with the support of Yıldırım Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. Explaining that the children who spent time in the facilities were honored by winning 3400 medals and 197 trophies in national and international competitions, Yılmaz stated that they taught swimming to 20 thousand children within the scope of the 'No One Who Can Swim' project. Explaining that 2023 thousand children will benefit from sports centers in 40 summer schools, Yılmaz thanked Minister Osman Aşkın Bak and Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş for their always support with the public gardens and sports centers, and wished the facility to be beneficial.
After the speeches, Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş and their entourage cut the opening ribbon of the sports facilities together with the athletes. Minister Bak, Mayor Aktaş and protocol members then visited the sports facilities and met with athletes in the basketball, karate and football branches. At the end of the program, Minister Bak took the ball and took a penalty shot.
