Mayor Büyükkılıç: “Kaski Produced 17 Million 715 Thousand TL of Electricity from Mud”

A significant contribution to the economy was made in 2023 at the KASKI General Directorate Kayseri Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility, which was established to prevent pollution of the receiving environment by purifying domestic wastewater.

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç pointed out that KASKI attaches great importance to human and environmental health, and that primary sludge is digested in wastewater treatment facilities, contributing significantly to the economy.

President Büyükkılıç; He underlined that electricity worth 2023 million 17 thousand TL was produced by the digestion of primary sludge consisting of treated wastewater in 715 at the Kayseri Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Facility, and said:

“In our Kayseri Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant, 2 million 806 thousand 952 cubic meters of biogas was produced from primary sludge, and by burning the produced biogas in generators, 17 kWh of electrical energy with an economic value of 715 million 5.440.25 thousand TL was obtained. All facilities throughout our city are operated at full capacity. While our KASKI meets the city's drinking water needs in the highest quality, it also purifies wastewater without harming the environment. “Our investments will continue to increase the number of such facilities in order to leave a more livable environment to future generations.”

On the other hand, 33 million cubic meters of wastewater was treated in 49 conventional and 2023 Natural Wastewater Treatment Facilities operated by KASKI General Directorate in 71.
