Mayor Aktaş: “No Excuses, We Have a Lot of Work”

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş started the day in Mustafakemalpaşa district. Mayor Aktaş distributed soup to the citizens after the morning prayer at the Sheikh Mufti Mosque, and then met with representatives of non-governmental organizations, professional chambers and fellow citizens' associations in the district. Visiting Mustafakemalpaşa Mayor Mehmet Kanar in his office, Mayor Aktaş met with the management and members of the Federation of Roma Associations of Bursa Center and Districts. Mayor Aktaş, who also attended the organizational meeting at the Municipality Wedding Hall, made a presentation about the investments they have made so far as the Metropolitan Municipality and planned for the new period.

WE DID NOT SIDE BEHIND EXCUSES

Stating that everything that could happen to a mortal person happened in Turkey in the last 4 years, Mayor Aktaş said, “Right at the beginning of 2020, we could not go out on the streets for days because of the pandemic, we stayed at home. The economy and social life stopped, and even members of the same house were confined to separate rooms. The economy and production were greatly affected by the imposed bans. Then there were fires in the south of the country and floods in the north. Don't ask what Bursa has to do with these. We tried to catch up with all of them, our teams made an effort to heal the wounds in those areas. Then we experienced a very painful earthquake. It affected all of Turkey. The state and the nation were mobilized. We provided all kinds of services in those regions with our 2300 employees and 700 vehicles and machines. We spent 350 million on the earthquake zone alone. Good luck. We spent our nation's money on our nation again. Long story short, despite all these events, the services we provided to Bursa were only a fragment. The real movie will start after this. We will do great things. There are two motivated leaders and strong staff. In this process, we should not approach the issue from an ideological perspective. We need to prioritize the interests of the district. "We will achieve much better things in Mustafakemalpaşa," he said.
