New Highway to Şanlıurfa within the Scope of Development Road

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak in Şanlıurfa, where he went to participate in a series of programs.

Minister Uraloğlu, who signed the Book of Honor, later visited Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül and in his statement to the journalists, stated that he was happy to be in Şanlıurfa, the "city of prophets".

Minister Uraloğlu stated that Şanlıurfa has a very important position today as it did in the past, and that the city is the center of GAP, the most important regional development project of the world and Turkey.

Stating that the Harran Plain, which has become one of the most productive plains of Turkey with the GAP, has become the apple of the eye of Turkey and even the world, Minister Uraloğlu said, “This is where Şanlıurfa, which has such historical, strategic and geopolitical importance, has an important place in agriculture, tourism and trade. What does it take to develop? Of course, the transportation network needs to be strong. Since 2002, we have invested approximately 58 billion liras in Şanlıurfa's transportation and communication infrastructure. We increased the length of the divided road from 28 kilometers to 619 kilometers. We have completed important highway projects such as Şanlıurfa-Birecik Highway, Nissibi Bridge on Adıyaman-Kâhta-Siverek Road, Şanlıurfa-Diyarbakır Road, Şanlıurfa Eastern and Southwest Ring Roads, Şanlıurfa-Viranşehir Road. We opened the Çevik Force Bridge Interchange, located at the intersection of Diyarbakır State Highway, Northwest Ring Road and Eastern Ring Road, giving breathing space to Şanlıurfa's urban traffic. At this point, where approximately 25 thousand vehicles pass daily, we reduced the transit time at the intersection by 5 times by eliminating stop-and-go waits. We connected Şanlıurfa to Mardin, Gaziantep and Diyarbakır with divided roads. "We are currently continuing 13 highway projects with a project cost of 876 billion 13 million liras." said.

WE ARE PLANNING TO IMPLEMENT THE URFARAY PROJECT AND COMPLETE IT IN 2028

Minister Uraloğulu stated that they are working to strengthen Şanlıurfa's railway transportation network and that they have renewed the 120 kilometer railway line between Karkamış-Nusaybin line and Karkamış-Zenginova. Stating that they serve Şanlıurfa with love and will continue to do so, Uraloğlu said that they have been doing service politics, not ideology politics, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan since 2002.

Stating that they will build a new 320-kilometer-long highway between Şanlıurfa and Ovaköy within the scope of the Development Road Project, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said, “With this project, 1200 thousand tons of cargo will come from India, East Asia and Persian Gulf countries to the FAV Port, which is being built in the south of Iraq.” "We plan to reach Turkey by building a two-way highway and railway of kilometers." said.
