Women from Demirci shared their longing with Manisa

Under the leadership of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün, a social responsibility project called "Let's Women Come to Manisa" was launched since 2013 to enable women residing in 17 districts of the city to get to know the city better. Within the scope of this project, which has allowed thousands of citizens to visit Manisa and learn its history since its inception, 76 women from Demirci visited the ancient city and received information about the artifacts. Head of Social Services Department, Sibel Alkın Kedersiz, accompanied by Social Services Department officials and the guide, welcomed the group at Şehzadelerpark. After the introduction of the first stop, women from Demirci went to the Sultan Mosque complex and listened to the information about the Medical History Museum and the Sultan Mosque. Subsequently, Muradiye Mosque, the only work of Mimar Sinan in the Aegean Region, was visited. By going to Mevlevihane, we learned about the place of the building in history and enjoyed the view resulting from its location. The women of Demirci, who listened to the mythological story of Niobe at the Crying Rock, took a break at the Ladies Family Tea Garden after being hosted at the MASKI General Directorate cafeteria for lunch. Finally, the group from Demirci visited the Çanakkale Martyrs' Monument, Atatürk Exhibition Hall, Atatürk Youth Center and Atatürk City Park, which were brought to the city by Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, and ended the tour here.

Women from Demirci, who listened to the story of Niobe that has been told for years in Weeping Rock and met the Muradiye Mosque that defies history, expressed their satisfaction by thanking Manisa Metropolitan Municipality and Mayor Cengiz Ergün for their contributions to this program, which allowed them to get to know the ancient city closely.
