Current Mayor Hilmi Bilgin, who is a candidate again from the AK Party for the local elections to be held on March 31, has started his candidacy efforts. Bilgin, who was welcomed by a large crowd with torches, cheers and shows of love despite the rain, said, "We say, 'We do not stop, we continue on the path of serving the nation, which we set out with the motto of municipalism with heart'."
In addition to Speaker Hilmi Bilgin, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, Sivas Deputy Hakan Aksu, AK Party Provincial Chairman Yusuf Tanrıverdi, Central District Chairman Burak Kuruçay, Women's Branch Chairman Arzu Polat, Youth Branch Chairman Fatih Sakarya and many members of the organization attended the ceremony. Speaking in the program, Deputy Hakan Aksu said, “The establishment adventure of the AK Party first occurred with its success in local governments. The success of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as mayor between 1994 and 1998 later carried him to the position of Prime Minister and then the Presidency. Our party has made great investments in Sivas. Especially in the last five years, our municipal administration under the chairmanship of Mayor Hilmi has brought works to our city that could not have been achieved in 20 years. Along with his municipal services, he has always kept his finger on the pulse of the city by being a municipality by heart, among the people, by your side. As a result of these successes, he was again declared as a Mayoral Candidate by our President. As AK Party Organizations, we will not make our President bow down by making a strong voice in our 17 districts and 16 towns, especially Sivas Municipality, just as we represented our party in the previous 7 elections.” said.
