Within the scope of KÖYDES, villages with no or insufficient drinking water are provided with sufficient and healthy drinking water, the standard of village roads is increased, small-scale irrigation infrastructure is developed, and thus, the quality of life in the villages is increased and their economic and social development is ensured.

Mehmet Özhaseki, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, stated that within the scope of the project, they provided drinking water facilities to 5 thousand 697 villages and affiliated settlements that do not have drinking water, and that they renewed the drinking water facilities of 72 thousand 212 villages and affiliated settlements with insufficient drinking water.

Reminding that work continues in 51 provinces with special provincial administrations other than metropolitan municipalities, Minister Özhaseki said, “The project covers village headmen's offices and their affiliated settlements, drinking water projects, and road projects to improve the quality and standards of village roads. Sharing the data on the village roads built within the scope of the KÖYDES Project, Minister Özhaseki said, “With our project, we built a total of 131 thousand 776 kilometers of roads in the villages, including 89 thousand 523 kilometers of asphalt, 5 thousand 179 kilometers of stabilized and 226 thousand 478 kilometers of concrete. In addition, we carried out 68 thousand 486 kilometers of repair, 5 thousand 945 kilometers of leveling and 48 million 268 thousand square meters of paving stone work.” made his assessment.
