Mass production of Turkey's Long Range Regional Air and Missile Defense System Project SİPER Product-1 has started
The "Mass Production Contracts Signing Ceremony of SİPER Product-1 and HİSAR Projects", initiated by the Presidency of Defense Industries within the scope of the needs of the Air and Land Forces Command, was attended by Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. It was signed at the ceremony held at the SSB with the participation of Haluk Görgün, Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, Land Forces Commander General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Air Forces Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, Deputy Minister of National Defense Celal Sami Tüfekci, Turkish Armed Forces and sector representatives.
With the signing ceremony, mass production of Turkey's Long Range Regional Air and Missile Defense System Project SİPER Product-1 started. The scope of the HİSAR Mass Production Project, which is the Low and Medium Altitude Air Defense Missile System, was expanded and the Air Forces Command was included in the project in addition to the Land Forces Command.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL DEFENSE INDUSTRY IS INCREASING EVERY DAY
Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler briefly said the following in his speech at the signing ceremony: “I consider that the agreements with expanded scope, the signing ceremony of which we witnessed today, are one of the important steps towards the development of our local-national defense industry. I hope that these contracts, which will lead to the writing of a new success story, will be beneficial to our country, our noble nation, our Turkish Armed Forces and our defense industry stakeholders. From past to present, the issue of defense and security has always been of great importance for countries. Especially in recent years, increasing geopolitical tensions with the developments in every field in the world, especially in our nearby geography; It makes risks and threats unpredictable, versatile and asymmetrical. In such a sensitive period, the importance of national security and the domestic and national defense industry, which is an integral part of it, increases day by day. In this context, Turkey has taken very comprehensive and major steps in recent years under the leadership of our President to develop its domestic and national defense industry. Our country, which has implemented many valuable and critical projects; It has reached an internationally respected position in the field of defense industry with the great progress it has made, from R&D investments to design, from production to exports. What our Turkish Armed Forces now need; We locally and nationally design, develop and produce the high-tech products we need in a wide range of areas, from unmanned land, sea and air vehicles to helicopters, from weapons and ammunition to missiles, from air defense weapons to electronic warfare systems. These projects, which will eliminate foreign dependency in the defense industry, have further increased the mobility and capabilities of our army. Thus; – In the effective protection of our borders, – In the determined defense of our rights and interests in our Blue and Sky Homeland, – In the domestic and cross-border anti-terrorism operations, – In the successes achieved in the execution of our international duties, the sacrifice and heroism of our personnel as well as the production of our local and national defense industry products His contributions are also great. In addition, our weapons and systems that strengthen our country's power are also exported to many brother, friendly and allied countries. It is a matter of pride that the brand value of Turkish defense industry products is increasing day by day in the regional and world markets.
Türkiye IS NOW THE PRODUCTION BASE OF CRITICAL TECHNOLOGIES
Now Türkiye; It is the production base of critical technologies in line with its technological infrastructure, production capacity, engineering capabilities and domestic and national technology moves. Our high-tech systems, for which we held the signing ceremony today, will further advance the superior level we have reached in the defense industry. OUR COUNTRY WILL BE PROTECTED IN THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY
“Our regional air and missile defense system, SİPER, developed with local and national resources, is a project of critical importance that will meet our needs in this field with its long-range capability. It is also important that the HİSAR missile, which will be used in the SİPER system, be developed to the maximum extent possible with our domestic and national resources. Thanks to our HİSAR missiles, the first tests of which were successfully carried out, the effectiveness and response of our SIPER system against air targets will increase. With these products, our Air Force's urgent system needs will be met and our Sky Homeland will be protected in the most effective way. To ensure the security of our country on land, at sea and in the air, and to protect the rights and interests of our noble nation; Increasing the number of such important projects and including them in the inventory of our heroic army is not a choice, but a necessity. Based on the aphorism of our national poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy in his poem, we are always ready to use our chest as a shield to prevent scoundrels from attacking our country, and at the same time, we are taking our defense capacity to stronger levels by producing weapons and systems such as 'SHELTER'. No one should have any doubt that we will write new achievements worthy of our ancestors in the golden pages of our history in line with our Turkey Century targets, and that we will make the second century of our Republic the 'Century of Defense Industry'. As a result, our Ministry of National Defense; We will continue to work shoulder to shoulder with our public institutions, foundations and private sector companies, and universities for a sustainable domestic and national defense industry ecosystem. On this occasion, we would like to thank our Presidency of Defense Industries and all stakeholders such as ASELSAN, Roketsan, TÜBİTAK SAGE, our valuable engineers and working brothers who contributed to the production of valuable systems, especially SİPER and HİSAR; I hope their success continues to increase. In his speech at the Signing Ceremony, Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün said: "SIPER, which we initiated with the ASELSAN - Roketsan - TÜBİTAK SAGE Business Partnership to develop an effective air defense system against high altitude and long range air-breathing targets, cruise missiles and air-to-surface ammunition. Within the scope of the project, we started the acceptance activities of the Product-1 system under the responsibility of ASELSAN - Roketsan. We will deliver our systems to our Air Forces Command in mid-2024. With the signing ceremony we held today, we are starting mass production of the SİPER Product-1 System. On the other hand, we used the opportunities and capabilities of many local defense industry companies within the scope of the Design and Development Term-1 Contracts of the HİSAR-A and HİSAR-O Projects ongoing between our Presidency and ASELSAN. We delivered the systems for which we completed the design, development and qualification activities to our Land Forces Command in 2021. With the Contract we will sign today within the scope of the HİSAR Mass Production Project, our Air Forces Command will be included in the project along with our Land Forces Command. I hope that both of our projects, which will support our strong image of Turkey on the field and at the table, will bring good things to our country, and I congratulate those who contributed.”
