Members of parliament, mayors, bureaucrats from public institutions and organizations and citizens attended the opening ceremony attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and General Manager Ahmet Gülşen.

A 20 minute journey turned into 2 minutes!

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Uraloğlu said that while the connection of the Organized Industrial Zone, iron and steel facilities and the 2 ports serving in the region to the highway was provided in 20 minutes via the Iskenderun Junction, it decreased to only 2 minutes with the junction.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, they have taken important steps with the aim of modernizing the transportation infrastructure of our country and offering a more comfortable life to our citizens, and said, "We are happy and proud of establishing a high standard transportation on this important route by opening the İskenderun OSB Junction and Connection Road." "We are living," he said.

We are aware of the importance of every project that will strengthen Hatay's transportation network.

Our Minister Uraloğlu stated that their investments continue in Hatay, as in 81 provinces of the country, on the path they are taking with firm steps in line with their goals befitting the Turkish Century, and said, “Hatay is located at the crossroads of the roads connecting Europe and Anatolia to the Middle East. It hosts the Port of Iskenderun, which is our country's gateway from the Eastern Mediterranean to the World. For this reason, we are aware of the importance of every project that will strengthen Hatay's transportation network and we follow all our projects closely. Since 2002, we have invested 26 billion 200 million lira for Hatay's transportation and communication infrastructure. "In 2002, we increased the length of the 151-kilometer divided road in our city to 501 kilometers, and the length of the 172-kilometer bituminous hot mixture road to 424 kilometers." said.

14 important highway projects continue

Pointing out that the Iskenderun Organized Industrial Zone Highway-State Road Connection Junction project, which they implemented, is one of the most important highway projects, Uraloğlu said the following about the project: A total of 3,9 km of which is a divided road and 6,1 km of which is a single road. We completed the 10 km long bituminous hot mixture coating standard. With the project, we increased the transportation standard of heavy tonnage and industrial traffic, especially to Iskenderun Organized Industrial Zone and iron and steel facilities, by arranging the intersection from the highway to the state highway. We are currently continuing 14 important highway projects. While the connection of the Organized Industrial Zone, iron and steel facilities and the 2 ports serving in the region to the highway was provided in 20 minutes via the Iskenderun junction, it decreased to only 2 minutes with our junction. Thus, we established fast and comfortable transportation of products and services produced in the region to Iskenderun Port and markets. In addition, thanks to this connection, we will save a total of 263 million TL annually, including 228 million TL in time and 491 million TL in fuel. "It will contribute to the protection of nature by reducing the carbon emissions of vehicles that harm the environment by 27 thousand 930 tons."

We are building Turkey's future

Minister Uraloğlu stated that they have been working with determination and effort since 2002 by bringing projects above world standards to our country, and that they have made Turkey a power competing with the world in transportation, communication, and informatics, and said: “No one should doubt that the traces of our ancestors are in every particle.” By reconstructing all the historical monuments and assets of this holy city in accordance with their original form, we will establish a much stronger and more developed Hatay, extending from the past to the future. Our dear nation has always trusted us, and our nation's trust in us is our greatest strength. “We will continue to be a hope for our nation with the strength we derive from this trust.”

While we strive to make our people's lives easier, we also offer highway projects that will pave the way for industry, new investments and the regional economy.
