Turkey's largest local and national ship, TCG Anadolu, is coming to Kocaeli on November 30. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın's meetings with Naval Forces Command officials resulted positively and it was decided that TCG Anadolu would enter the Gulf of Izmit. Turkey's national pride, TCG Anadolu, will greet the people of Kocaeli by anchoring in Izmit Bay on Thursday, November 30th and will host its visitors until Wednesday, December 06th. TCG Anadolu visited Turkey's port cities on the 100th anniversary of the Republic; It will be open to visitors between 30-14.00 on 18.00 November and between 01-02 on 03, 04, 05, 06, 10.00 and 18.00 December. Hundreds of thousands of people from Kocaeli and surrounding provinces are expected to visit our national pride, TCG Anadolu.

TRANSPORTATION TO TCG ANADOLU BY SEA FROM THE METROPOLITAN CITY

Visitor entrances will be created at 2 separate points for those who will visit TCG Anadolu. For those coming with their vehicles, an event area and visitor entrance will be established from the parking lot behind the main building of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality. A corridor extending to the 1 March Ferry Pier will be created for visitors entering from here. There will also be a visitor entrance at the 1 Mart Ferry Pier on the Izmit coast. For our citizens who will visit TCG Anadolu, anchored in Izmit Bay, ring trips will be organized by sea vehicles from the 1 March Ferry Pier. Visitors passing through the checkpoint at the Ferry Pier will be transported to TCG Anadolu by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's marine vehicles. In order to avoid disruption of sea transportation, Line 1 and Line 3 services in Izmit Bay will be operated from the Marina Pier between 30 November and 06 December.

PRESIDENT BÜYÜKAKIN MEETED

TCG Anadolu, the world's first UCAV ship, is called the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship. TCG Anadolu will be opened to visitors from Kocaeli and surrounding provinces on the 100th anniversary of our Republic. The negotiations between President Büyükakın and Naval Forces Command officials for TCG Anadolu, which has state-of-the-art advanced weapons and which can take off and land on UAV, Kızılelma Unmanned Combat Aircraft, Hürjet Light Attack Helicopter, had positive results. TCG Anadolu, which also carries ZAHAs, Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicles that can swim in water and move on land, will anchor in Izmit Bay and greet the people of Kocaeli.
