Seeing technology as an important part of its development and future vision; The Automatic Train Inspection Stations (OTMI) project, developed by the State Railways of the Republic of Turkey (TCDD), which adds value to the sector and strength to domestic production with its R&D studies, in partnership with Tubitak RUTE, was deemed worthy of an award in the innovation category by the European Railway Clusters Initiative (ERCI).
ERCI gives innovation awards in 3 different categories every year regarding the works carried out in railways, in the large enterprises category; TCDD and Tubitak awarded the artificial intelligence supported train recognition system developed within the scope of the OTMİ Project in partnership with RUTE.
At the innovation award ceremony held in Berlin, the capital of Germany, a detailed presentation was made about the project, drawing attention to the importance that railways attach to digitalization. In the presentation where the award-winning train recognition system was summarized, the importance given by TCDD to digitalization was highlighted and the projects it financed were mentioned.
