Turkey's leading land systems manufacturer Otokar received an order worth approximately 6 million Euros from Estonia for ARMA 6×130 Armored Personnel Carrier vehicles, one of its world-renowned armored vehicles. The agreement regarding the order was signed in Estonia on October 18 by Estonian Center for Defense Investments (ECDI) General Manager Magnus Valdemar Saar and Otokar Military Vehicles Deputy General Manager Sedef Vehbi. According to the contract, which includes maintenance equipment and training services along with the vehicles, deliveries are planned to start in the second half of 2024 and be completed in 2025.

At the signing ceremony held with the participation of the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, Yaşar Güler, and the Minister of Defense of Estonia, Hanno Pevkur, following the Letter of Good Intent (LOI) signed between the ministers of the two countries, the Presidential Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün and ECDI General Manager Magnus Valdemar Saar signed a bilateral agreement. A protocol was signed regarding cooperation in the country's defense industry.

LEAVED ITS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITORS BEHIND

Before the purchase decision, the Estonian Armed Forces (EDF) subjected the internationally proven candidates to a very comprehensive evaluation, both commercially and technically. ARMA 6×6 stood out among its global competitors with its superior technical features and became the preferred vehicle.

Stating that Otokar is a global player in the field of defense industry, Otokar Deputy General Manager Sedef Vehbi said, “We are proud to serve the Estonian Armed Forces with our ARMA 6×6 vehicles. Nearly 33 thousand military vehicles of Otokar, Turkey's leading land systems manufacturer, continue to serve in more than 5 friendly and allied countries on 40 continents. "We are working to offer the best products and services to our users with our global knowledge, engineering success, R&D and technology capabilities," he said.

Vehbi pointed out that Otokar is currently one of the land systems suppliers of NATO and the United Nations; “This agreement we signed with Estonia is a milestone for our ARMA multi-wheeled armored combat vehicle family. ARMA 6×6, which has proven itself in different geographies and climatic conditions of the world, will be included in the inventory of a NATO member country for the second time. We are proud that our vehicle, ARMA 6×6, was selected in the rigorous evaluation of the Estonian Armed Forces, surpassing its international competitors. "We consider this agreement as the beginning of a long-term cooperation between the Estonian Armed Forces and Otokar."
