Mechanical designs of ATMACA Anti-Ship Missile cabinets, Turkey's first sea missile and developed by ROKETSAN, are made locally. With the completion of prototype production, the mass production phase continues rapidly. Şadi Kopuz, CEO of Enginsoft Engineering, which carries out mechanical designs and production, gave information about the domestic production support they gave to main contractor companies such as ASELSAN, TAI and FNSS.

Referring to the work carried out with ROKETSAN and ASELSAN, Şadi Kopuz said, “We are carrying out turnkey mechanical design and manufacturing of the ATMACA Anti-Ship Missile, which was developed by ROKETSAN with national resources. In addition, with ASELSAN, we carry out mechanical design and prototype production in many projects such as tank modernization, Qatar VAB, overhead ground station, and beard landing platform. We provide services at the point of advanced engineering analysis, especially mechanical design and prototype manufacturing. Most of the projects we are working with ASELSAN are turnkey mechanical design and prototype manufacturing projects.

This is how ASELSAN, TUSAŞ and FNSS engineers are trained

Pointing out that they also supply engineer workforce to main contractors such as ASELSAN, TUSAŞ and FNSS, Kopuz said, “We provide engineer workforce to leading main contractors of our defense industry such as ASELSAN, TUSAŞ and FNSS. With this method, we have brought over 150 engineers to ASELSAN so far. I can also say that we received an important appreciation and thanks from them in this direction. Our engineering workforce is not only limited to mechanical design and analysis engineering, but also from software engineers to hardware or systems engineers. After working with these engineers for a certain period of time, our main contractors recruit those they deem suitable for their staff… Thanks to this system that works flawlessly, we support our friends and also meet the workforce needs of our main contractors in the best possible way. We have agreements with career sites and universities. While evaluating the engineer profiles, we usually choose the engineers we have trained in our own staff, but sometimes, especially when there is a demand for new graduates, we also recommend the names we choose from our pool to our main contractors.”

The cost of exporting engineering services to Italy alone exceeded 1,5 million Euros.

Providing information about the countries they export to, Kopuz said, “As one of the rare companies that export engineering services since 2015, we export engineering services to Italy, America and France in different fields. In addition, we continue to negotiate with Germany on the export of engineering services. Our engineering service export value, which we have done with Italy within the scope of offset projects, has exceeded 1,5 million Euros.

“We are the Türkiye distributor of Ansys software”

“Another core business is engineering analysis. We are also the Turkey distributor of Ansys software, one of the world's most advanced engineering software in this field. Therefore, we both sell software, provide technical support and provide advanced engineering analysis services using this software. At the same time, we offer and train our new graduates or 4th grade engineers to work in this field. We both bring income to the industry and enable them to have opportunities to work on our own projects. Ansys software; It is the world's leading software for advanced engineering analysis, structural analysis and fluid analysis. We have provided this software to many of our companies, especially in the military maritime sector,” said Kopuz, and listed the companies from which they provided software as follows: “We provided this software to many companies such as ASFAT, STM, YALTES, and many companies such as Quasar Marine, NAVTEK, Sonitus, SEFT. We also provide technical support for the software. We also provide engineering services using this software.”

“We take part in European Union projects”

“We are involved in two major projects within the scope of Horizon2020 projects. In the DigiPrime project, which continues with a support of 16 M€, we are designing a platform supported by virtual intelligence for the management of world waste in cooperation with large companies such as Audi, BOSCH and Siemens. At the same time, in the Flamin-Go project, we are developing artificial tissue at the nano level to be used in trial studies of drugs together with universities and institutes in different European countries.”

Kopuz concluded his words as follows: “In addition to our memberships in Saha Istanbul- Defense and Aviation Cluster and Defense and Aviation Industry Manufacturers Association (SASAD), we have test security in the certification leg, we have AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.”
