In a building in Ankara's Keçiören district, the mother and son of 10 people who were poisoned by pesticides died. While 8 people who were poisoned were taken to the hospital, it was learned that the condition of 1 was serious. 2 people were detained in connection with the incident.

A Somali family living in a 4-storey building in the Sancaktepe District of Ankara's Keçiören district allegedly sprayed the apartment 3 days ago.

Due to the use of pesticides, all apartments were affected by pesticides.

AFAD Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) experts, fire brigade and health teams were sent to the region at around 07.30.

While the mother and son in the building died, 8 people were taken to the hospital.

Ankara Governor's Office made a statement about the incident.

Ankara Governor's Office reported that 7 of 2 people who showed signs of poisoning died in Keçiören district, and 5 of them continued their treatment in the hospital.

The statement made by the governor's office is as follows: “Today, at 07.33 in the morning, complaints of dizziness, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain were received from a family residing in our Keçiören district, and medical teams were immediately assigned to the issue. According to the information received from our Police, AFAD, UMKE, SAKOM and GAMER teams, it was evaluated that there were 7 citizens affected by the situation, and according to the first findings, signs of poisoning were observed in the individuals. Two of our citizens, who were transferred to hospitals, lost their lives, and the treatment of other citizens continues. Necessary measures have been taken in and around the building in question. In order to determine the exact cause of the incident, investigations and investigations are carried out by expert teams under the supervision of the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor.”
