The damage caused by the work started the previous day in front of the Ortakent beach of Bodrum and stopped by the municipality was viewed by an underwater camera.

The work, which was carried out at the seabed of Ortakent with the help of an excavator on the floating platform and caused public reactions, was stopped by the Police teams, who went to the region with the instruction of Mayor Ahmet Aras.

Bodrum Municipality divers conducted dives in the region today and made investigations. As a result of the examinations, it was determined that the work carried out with the permissions given by the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Bodrum Port Authority harmed the protected seagrass meadows and the ecosystem of the region. In the underwater images taken during the dive in the area where a large area is covered with seagrass meadows, it was seen that the seagrass meadows in an area of approximately 100 square meters were severely damaged by the excavations carried out by the excavator.

The necessary minutes and reports regarding the study, which damaged the marine ecosystem, disrupted the coastal structure and caused irreparable damage to nature, were prepared by the municipality teams and sent to the relevant institutions.
