Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) opened the 9th City Restaurants and the 6th Youth Offices in Sarıyer Rumelihisarüstü, right across the south gate entrance of Boğaziçi University. IMM President and Nation Alliance Vice President candidate, who came to Rumelihisarüstü Neighborhood to hold the openings Ekrem İmamoğluwas met with great interest from Boğaziçi students and residents. Stating that they started to open city restaurants as of July 2022, İmamoğlu said, “The food you see is served to our people for 29 TL. This is of great importance. According to the research conducted by the Istanbul Planning Agency; The rate of those who say 'There is no food in my house from time to time' is almost 20 percent in Istanbul. At the point where we are experiencing such a problem of the society, as İBB, we are trying to contribute and support our people by increasing our social assistance with our different works.” Noting that the main target audience of Kent Restaurants are students, employees and tradesmen, İmamoğlu said, “At this point, we are expanding our City Restaurant service network by choosing points close to universities, from Avcılar to Sultanahmet or other points.”
“I WAS SHAME TO SEE TOMA FOR MONTHS AT BOĞAZİÇİ UNIVERSITY”
Emphasizing that Boğaziçi University has a special importance in this sense, İmamoğlu said:
“Bosphorus University, which is the apple of the eye of Turkey and one of the most important universities in the world, has unfortunately recently been on the agenda of the society with many issues besides education. And this is not an agenda that will ever make us happy. Unfortunately, it was dragged into a bad process with the domination of the university by the political will, with a mind that ignored the students and academics, who did not comply with the rules at the school, did not comply with the tradition, and with forced appointments blocked the strong development that the university had put forward for years, and turned it into another direction. I, unfortunately, was embarrassed to see TOMA here for months. But after the Hisarüstü-Aşiyan funicular we built, with the landscaping there and the understanding of the security forces there, we at least brought the place to a reasonable order and system. I am happy because of that.”
KENT RESTAURANT OPENING TURNED INTO A MERGE
İmamoğlu made the following speech to the enthusiastic crowd waiting for him at the exit of Kent Restaurant:
“I am glad that our students are here as well. Congratulations to our Kent Restaurant, especially to our Boğaziçi University students. I know that it is essential to offer this opportunity, especially to our young people. This is not something made for commercial purposes. The 9th branch, which appeals to all students, of course, also to other citizens. We have served 700 thousand meals at our other eight branches in the past 5-6 months on average. So this is a great need.”

IMM; has implemented the 'City Restaurant' project with the aim of contributing to the healthy nutrition of students, minimum wage workers and shopkeepers at affordable prices. After Çapa, Bağcılar, Sultanbeyli, Ümraniye, Üsküdar, Avcılar, Sultanahmet and Küçükçekmece, Rumelihisarüstü became the 9th branch of İBB Kent Restaurants. In the hygienic kitchens of the IMM Logistics Support Center, the 4-course menu, carefully prepared by experienced chefs, will be served as table d'hote at a price of 29 TL. The opening menu of Kent Lokantası, which has the capacity to host 9 guests at the same time with its 45-person staff, was as follows:
