BelPlas AŞ, one of the affiliates of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, has started to transform the waste plastics it collects from parks and gardens into 'drip irrigation pipes' by recycling. The drip irrigation pipes produced will be distributed to farmers free of charge and rural support will be provided.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has added a new one to its recycling projects. BelPlas AŞ, one of the subsidiaries of ABB, started to turn the waste plastics collected from parks and gardens into drip irrigation pipes by recycling at the facilities it established in Kahramankazan.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced his new projects with his social media accounts. Yavaş said, “With our recycling attacks, we both protect our world and support production. We will turn the non-hazardous waste plastics collected from parks and gardens into drip irrigation pipes at our BelPlas facilities and distribute them to our farmers.”

30 THOUSAND METERS OF PIPE WILL BE PRODUCED DAILY

Non-hazardous waste plastics collected from parks and gardens are turned into drip irrigation pipes between 20 centimeters and 1 meter in BelPlas facilities.

Facility; While it can produce 1 meters of pipe in 60 minute, it will produce 30 thousand meters in total in a single shift per day.

FREE SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED TO FARMERS WITH THE PIPES PRODUCED

BelPlas AŞ Production Manager Nurettin Doğuş Gürbüz said, “We aim to support our farmers by producing granules from the burrs and drip irrigation pipes from the granules we obtain by recycling the non-hazardous plastic wastes we collect from the parks of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.”

Produced drip irrigation pipes will be distributed to farmers free of charge.
