Ankara Metropolitan Municipality started renovation works in the streets of Ulus, the historical center of the capital. The Department of Culture and Nature initiated a landscaping covering the Government and Anafartalar Avenues, and Sesame and Çam Streets. In project scope; paving stones, urban furniture, lighting and plant landscape will be renewed.

Within the scope of the renovation works carried out by the Department of Culture and Nature in Ulus; He does urban design and landscaping on the Government and Anafartalar Avenues and Sesame and Çam Streets.

Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who announced his urban design and landscaping works with a post on his social media accounts, said, “Renovation works are continuing on the Government and Anafartalar Streets and Sesame and Çam Streets in Ulus, the historical center of our capital, the trust of our Republic. We are bringing a new face to Ulus with the project we aim to complete in August.”

Yavaş reminded of projects such as Anafartalar Bazaar, Municipality Bazaar, Ulus Business Center, Ankara Castle Restoration, Ulus Carpet Renovation and Ulus Square Arrangement and said, “We will restore Ulus to its old days and history”.

THE HISTORIC REGION WILL GET A BRAND NEW LOOK

Landscaping Construction Work of Altındağ District Government Street and Its Surroundings with a tender value of 14 million 979 thousand TL; It starts from the intersection of Anafartalar Street and Government Street and extends to the old Ankara Governor's Office and Hacı Bayram-ı Veli Mosque.

After the completion of the works that will renew the paving stones, urban furniture, lighting and plant landscape, the historical district of the capital will have a brand new look.

THE PROJECT IS TARGETED TO COMPLETE IN AUGUST

Bekir Ödemiş, Head of the Department of Cultural and Natural Heritage, stated that the works have started on the project covering the Government and Anafartalar Avenues, Sesame and Çam Streets and its surroundings, and said, “As we all know, this is one of the most visited locations in the historical city center of Ulus. It is a touristic center where the spiritual leader of Ankara, Hacı Bayram-ı Veli Tomb and mosque, and the Temple of Augustus, one of the most important works of the Roman Period, are located… However, this entrance did not suit such a touristic area. We also prepared our project. This project is not just a pavement arrangement project. Urban design and landscaping. We plan to complete these works in August. When the works are completed, this place will be completely renovated and will be suitable for the historical structure. We chose special materials for the pavements. Our urban furniture and lighting and plant landscaping were all specially selected.”
