Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality continues its landscaping works on the historical Malabadi Bridge, which is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Tentative List.

The Department of Parks and Gardens has completed 40 percent of the landscaping work it carried out to reveal the splendor of the Malabadi Bridge, located within the borders of Silvan district.

Within the scope of the project, a cafeteria, walking path, children's playground, viewing terrace, stepped seating, fishing piers and resting areas will be built in an area of ​​24 thousand square meters.

14 thousand 500 square meters will be evaluated as green area

In the project, which will appeal to all segments from 7 to 70, the teams will bring together 14 different types of coniferous trees, 500 shrubs and 361 ground cover plants on an area of ​​​​1523 thousand 2 square meters.

A walking path will be created on the coastline

In addition, a playground for children will be created on an area of ​​​​4 square meters in the study, where an area of ​​​​400 thousand square meters will be used as a walking path on the coastline.

In the project, where a 210 square meter observation terrace will also be built, a cafeteria with a 40 square meter usage area will also be established in order to allow the visitors to watch the magnificence of the historical Malabadi Bridge, which has the widest arch among the stone bridges.

Fishing piers will be built

The Parks and Gardens Department will also place 64 seating units, 12 tables and 22 trash cans in the designated sections to allow the citizens to rest in the study, which will include fishing piers.

In order to ensure the healthy growth of green areas, the teams will build an 80 square meter water tank in the area determined within the scope of the project.
