Akkuyu Nuclear National Children's Painting Competition Winners Announced

The winners of the National Children's Painting Competition, organized by Akkuyu Nuclear A.Ş for children aged 6-16, have been announced.

More than 100 children from cities all over Turkey, including Mersin, Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Izmir, Antalya, Adana, Manisa, Gaziantep, Konya, participated in the online competition. Akkuyu Nuclear Inc. Production and Construction Organization Director Denis Sezemin, Akkuyu Nuclear A.Ş General Manager Press Secretary and Communications Director Vasiliy Korelsky, Akkuyu Nuclear A.Ş Legal Counsel Naila Atmaca, Akkuyu Nuclear A.Ş Chief Sales Specialist Fedora Dushkova and Turkish Nuclear Industry Association Board of Directors Jury members, whose member is Nesrin Zengin, evaluated the participants' work in terms of technique, originality and suitability for the competition theme.

Speaking about the results of the competition, Akkuyu Nuclear A.Ş General Manager Anastasia Zoteeva said:

“The jury had a hard time choosing the best from the many brilliant and original works. We would like to thank each and every competitor for being active, creative and willing to create! Children should be encouraged in this regard. Our competition has now become a tradition and every year we observe that the geography of the participants expands and the interest shown by the children increases. The announcement of the winners on 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, which is a special holiday for Turkey, has a symbolic meaning. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, placed his hopes on the young generation for the development and prosperity of the newly established republic. Nuclear energy is not only a new high-tech industry and a reliable and clean source of large amounts of electricity for the Turkish economy, but also a great opportunity for the development of future generations. Akkuyu Nuclear A.Ş will continue to support the youth in Turkey through various competitions and training, awareness raising and social initiatives.”

The winners of the painting contest by category are as follows:

"Atomic Superhero" nomination

6-10 age category: first place – Karin Berra Karagöz, second place – Yasmina Strizhova, third place – Varvara Kudryashova.

11-16 age category: first place – Cansu Koçak, second place – Alvina Strizhova, third place – Eylül Çelikkıran.

"Energy That Changed the World" nomination

6-10 age category: first place – Yarina Myakisheva, second place – Varvara Khromikh, third place – Safiye Cesur.

11-16 age category: first place – Misha Martynova, second place – Anastasia Derbenyova, third place – Ivan Korchmarik.
