Electric buses, brought to the city by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, have become the reason for the preference of the people, as they are environmentally friendly and economical, as well as being quieter than fossil fuel buses. Around 20 thousand passengers were transported in 7 months with these buses, 700 of which were purchased at the first stage. About 600 thousand kilometers traveled. President Mustafa Demir said that they have established the city of the future and that they will increase the number of electric buses.
With the electric buses within the Metropolitan Municipality, Samsun sets an example for other provinces with both environmental awareness and fuel savings. In order to save money in public transportation and reduce carbon emissions, electric buses with domestic lithium batteries and ultra-fast charging feature became the reason for preference among the people for the first time in Turkey. With TEKNOFEST held in Samsun last year, a new era has started in transportation with electric buses that started to carry passengers. These buses, whose software and design are 10% domestic, can travel 90 kilometers with a 8-minute charge. Compared to fossil fuels, it is 1 in 10 economical and environmentally friendly, providing citizens with the opportunity to travel quietly. In addition, electric buses run 10 decibels less noise than fossil fueled ones. It can be charged in 90 minutes and travels approximately XNUMX kilometers.

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said that they have established the city of the future, therefore they will increase the number of electric buses. Kadir Gürkan, Head of Transportation Department, said, “Our 20 electric buses have been carrying passengers for 7 months. During this period, we served around 700 thousand passengers. We traveled about 600 thousand kilometers. Passengers loved it. Because it is more environmentally friendly and very profitable when we evaluate it in terms of fuel saving. Besides, it's quieter. Electric buses run 10 decibels less noise than fossil fuel buses. Therefore, passengers find it more comfortable.”

Arzu Deniz, one of the passengers who prefer electric buses; “Very good, we are very satisfied. It is quieter and more comfortable than other buses,” he said. Kübranur Gülaçtı said, “I am very satisfied. I'm going to university. It's very quiet. When I get on these buses, my head does not hurt at all.” Necip Sevinçli, one of the passengers; “Comfortable, quiet, no fuel. Environmentally friendly. What more can we say? Thank you to our municipality. I hope all vehicles will be like this," he said.
