In the operation carried out at the Kapıkule Customs Gate by the Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams, 3 million 750 thousand liras worth of smuggled computers and computer components were seized in the vehicle that came to enter Turkey.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, a vehicle that came to the Kapıkule Customs Area by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce was deemed suspicious in the targeting activities carried out within the scope of anti-smuggling activities and was sent for x-ray scanning. Upon detection of suspicious concentrations in various parts of the vehicle as a result of the scan, the vehicle was taken to the search hangar and a physical search was initiated.

It was determined that many computers and computer components were hidden in the gaps created on the roof, floor and side walls of the vehicle, which was subjected to detailed control. On the other hand, with the search of the driver's area, it was seen that there were items hidden under the seats, behind the seats and in the glove box of the vehicle.

As a result of the operation, a total of 46 laptop computers, 285 computer cases, 250 processors and 457 charging adapters were seized. While it was determined that the seized devices were worth 3 million 750 thousand liras, an investigation was launched by the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.
