Mayor Soyer, who received information about the works from the head of the unit, Yusuf İşbitirici, and thanked the municipality personnel working in the region, said, “Whoever gets stuck, knocks on the door of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Weaving loom and mill brought back to life
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, visited Gökçayır Agricultural Cooperative and met with the producers. After the carpet weaving loom and the mill, which were damaged in the earthquake, were put into operation by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the cooperative stood up again. Stating that it gives great pleasure for women to start carpet weaving again, President Soyer said, “As long as you produce. We will buy carpets and bags from you,” he said. With the support of the local people in the cooperative, the carpet motifs that were about to disappear were framed and hung on the walls, and the women began to weave carpets. In addition, Yaşar Kemal Seed Center was opened. After the training, it was stated that the production will start here as well.
Great support for peanut butter, paste and packaging
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyervisited Yarbaşı Agricultural Development Cooperative, which was provided with machinery and packaging support by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality to obtain peanut oil and crush it. President Soyer, who toured the facility, said, “The production stopped here. But the life goes on. It is necessary to produce solutions that will allow our producers to continue their lives and to return to production. We are here for him. Together with our Lieutenant-Mayor, we are in search of how we can support agricultural production more and enrich agricultural production. There is a very valuable product here. Peanuts… Perhaps a significant part of Turkey's total production capacity comes from this region. We need to increase the added value of peanuts, provide diversity with products such as paste, oil and chips, and develop the market network. We will receive professional support, from brand design to packaging design. If we do not support agricultural production, if we do not pave the way for this, if we do not work to strengthen agricultural production, not only this place, but also the west of Turkey will lose. The cessation of production here means our total impoverishment. We have to lose altogether. As Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, we will continue to support as much as we can.”

Deputy Mayor Mustafa Kaynar thanked Mayor Soyer for his support. President Soyer said, “You embrace us like your brothers. For us, you are now brothers. President Soyer also visited Bahar baby, who was born after the earthquake. Mayor Soyer expressed that they will always be with the Halaç family, who named the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality doctor Bahar Tek, who constantly supports the mother during the birth of her babies.
