China plans to build a 400-kilometer hydrogen pipeline. Ma Yongsheng, head of Sinopec, the operator of China's largest oil refinery and pipeline, said the project will transfer hydrogen from the city of Ulankab in the north of the country, in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to the capital Beijing, and that this project will be the country's first interregional and long-distance hydrogen He said it would be a pipeline.

In the first phase of the pipeline, it is expected to transport 100 thousand tons of hydrogen each year, and in the long run, the pipeline has the potential to increase its capacity by 500 thousand tons. Ma said that the pipeline's supply from Inner Mongolia will replace existing hydrogen production from fossil fuels in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
