During the operation carried out by the Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams at the Hamzabeyli Customs Gate, 60 kilos and 756 grams of cannabis were seized.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, the teams of the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement of the Ministry of Commerce continue to fight drug smuggling in every corner of the country. In this context, risk analysis and control activities are carried out uninterruptedly at all bonded places and areas.

Within the framework of these studies, as a result of the analysis and control studies carried out by the Hamzabeyli Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Regional Chief, a truck vehicle was evaluated as risky and sent for x-ray scanning. In the X-ray images, suspicious densities were detected in the tractor section of the truck.

The suspicious density areas of the truck, which was sent to the search hangar, were also reacted by the narcotic detector dog. The Customs Enforcement teams, who detected that there were vacuum bags hidden in the front, rear and side upholstery interiors in the tractor section of the truck, carried out a successful operation. As a result of the searches carried out at these points, 99 kilos and 60 grams of cannabis were seized in 756 packages.

While the drugs and the truck were seized in the successful operation, the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. The investigation into the incident continues before the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
