Bekir Ödemiş, Head of the Department of Cultural and Natural Heritage, stated that they brought together all segments of the society with these trips:

“Our trips from all professions and age groups attract great attention. This means that we can bring together all parts of Ankara here. Everyone is very happy with these trips. Our aim is to bring Ankara back to the agenda with such a participatory approach and to rewrite Ankara's lost story… Ankara has a story. We will ensure this by resurrecting the cultural and historical heritage of Ankara from its past to the present and bringing it to the agenda of both Ankara and Turkey. The most valuable thing is; To be able to create an Ankara identity.”

While the tours contribute to the promotion of the history of the city, citizens are informed about the restoration and conservation works carried out in accordance with the original, accompanied by expert guides.

Free tours bring together citizens who are interested in the history of Ankara and are curious about the works carried out. Citizens who participated in the Ankara Heritage Construction Site Trips and had the opportunity to witness the history of Ankara closely said:

Ayşe Zülal Kirişçi: “I am a nurse and a student of the Department of Anthropology at Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography. It was a very good event. While I was traveling today, I realized that there are places in Ankara that I do not know and cannot see, and I liked it very much. These activities need to be held in different places and times. Because Ankara is a place that needs to be recognized, the more we know, the more we love it.”

Ayşenur Kaya: “I am a 3rd year student at Kastamonu University, Department of Architecture. It is very nice that the municipality provides this opportunity… I have experienced this and I recommend it to everyone.”
