Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will increase the number of Book Cafes from 4 to 10. Expressing that they want to increase the number of Book Cafes in line with the demands of the young people in the 100th anniversary of the Republic, İZELMAN A.Ş General Manager Burak Alp Ersen said, “We are increasing the number of our Book Cafes to 10 until September. In this way, we will ensure that young people do not lose touch with the book.”

Book Cafes, where İzmir Metropolitan Municipality brings together activities related to science, culture and art, became a frequent destination for young people. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality decided to add a new one to the Book Cafes opened in APİKAM, Mustafa Necati Bey Cultural Center, Konak Metro Station and Seferihisar Hıdırlık Neighborhood. Expressing that they will increase the number of Book Cafes to 100 in the 10th anniversary of the Republic, İZELMAN A.Ş General Manager Burak Alp Ersen said, “We started to open our book cafes 6 months ago. We have provided an environment where our youth and students can both study and socialize. Book Cafes were also very popular with young people. Young people prefer these places every day of the week. We did not remain indifferent to this situation and decided to increase the number of book cafes to 10.”

By September, the number of Book Cafes will increase to 10.

Reminding that there are many publications about İzmir in Book Cafes, Ersen said, “We will ensure that young people do not lose touch with books in this period when many modern cafes are opened. Having the book on the agenda is a very valuable thing. Book Cafe is a very important business in this respect. We will do our part to the best of our ability by opening new Book Cafes until September. Buca, Bornova and Çiğli are among the districts where new Book Cafes will be opened,” he said.

Heja Deniz Kılıçarslan, who is preparing for university exams and prefers APİKAM Book Cafe to study, said, “We have been studying at APİKAM since the book cafes were opened. Libraries are very crowded and there is no environment like here. It is very efficient for us. I'm coming here from Buca. The road is a bit long, but it's worth it here. I get motivated here with my friends. We ask each other about things we don't know,” she said.

Open High School student Mustafa Tatlıkan, 17, said, “We have been choosing book cafes for a month or two. We feel the assurance of the Metropolitan Municipality. There is a safe environment close to the metro, easy to reach. When we want coffee and tea, we buy it here at affordable prices. We love this place," he said.

Gizem Bozgül, who stated that Book Cafes are an invaluable blessing for them in terms of study environment, said, “Book cafes are very good. There are no places where there are such affordable coffees and where students can spend time during the day. It's good that it's centrally located. I hope there will be more and more Book Cafes will be opened. I am here 7 days a week. I am so in love with Book Cafes. It is a peaceful place and we relax with our friends. We are getting ready for DGS,” he said.
