600-Year-Old Historical Mosque in Ordu is Moving to the Future

The second phase of the restoration of the Eskipazar (Bayrambey) Mosque, which is the first settlement of the Altınordu district of Ordu and was built between 1380-1390 during the Hacıemiroğulları Principality period and was restored by the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, was opened for worship during Ramadan.

Within the scope of the project prepared by the Department of Zoning and Urbanization, the restoration of the minaret and landscaping works were started in the 600-year-old historical Eskipazar (Bayrambey) Mosque, which is undergoing restoration work in accordance with the original. In addition to the mosque minaret, which will be restored within the scope of the project, landscaping works and ablution areas are carried out in accordance with the architecture.

President Güler, who has accelerated the restoration works in Ordu by protecting the historical and cultural heritage buildings of the city, stated that they aim to establish a link between the past and the future with the works carried out.

President Hilmi Güler, who examined the restoration works on site, gave the following statements in his statement:

“This is Eskipazar region, one of the oldest settlements in Ordu. It is a mosque built in the 1300s during the time of the Hacıemiroğulları Principality, formerly known as the Bayramlı Mosque. This is one of the places where Muslims performed their first worship activities. That's why it's very important to us. We have recently completed the mosque restoration work. Now we have started the 2nd stage work. Within the scope of the 2nd stage works, our teams will complete the landscaping and toilet works, especially the mosque minaret, and finish the works here. As Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, we have protected our past as we did yesterday, and we will continue to do so.”

Within the scope of the restoration project carried out in cooperation with the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and the Investment Monitoring and Coordination Directorate of the Governorship of Ordu, a detailed study is carried out to cover the harim, mahfil, mosque facade, roof, minaret, fountain, toilet and landscaping.

Within the scope of the project, the renovation of the old fountains and toilets, the restoration of the windows, the renewal of the wooden floors, the removal of the paint on the entrance of the mosque and the columns, the renovation of the floors, the renovation of the interior and exterior facades are continuing.
