The Ministry of Commerce reported that in the operation carried out at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, real human hair weighing 15 kilograms was seized in the luggage with the passenger.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, a foreign passenger was followed up within the scope of the work carried out by the Istanbul Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

The suitcase of the passenger who came with the plane on the Tehran-Istanbul flight was subjected to an x-ray scan and checked just before it was sent to the passenger lounge. When suspicious density was observed in the suitcase, the suitcase was placed on tape and followed up simultaneously. On the other hand, the suspect, who came to the passenger hall after completing the passport procedures, took his suitcase from the tape and headed towards the exit, unaware that he was being followed. At this stage, the teams intervened and the passengers were directed to the luggage control. The personal suitcase was x-rayed again in the passenger lounge and then subjected to a physical search.

As a result of the search, it was seen that the suitcase was filled with real human hair in various colors. As a result of the operation, 15 strands of human hair with a total weight of 92 kilograms were seized, and it was determined that the hair was worth 350 thousand liras.

An investigation was launched before the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.
