Emirates announced the construction of a state-of-the-art training center to house six fully equipped flight simulators for its Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X aircraft. The new 63.318 square meter facility is scheduled to open in March 2024.

“This $135 million investment, which will be used to build a new pilot training centre, will ensure Emirates personnel are ready before a new fleet of aircraft is delivered in 2024. pilots with the best possible training. “The hub will be powered by solar power to reduce energy consumption as much as possible,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed AI Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airlines and Group.

The new building will be constructed next to Emirates' existing training centers in Dubai, providing full integration and proximity to all other pilot training centres.

Trained pilots will have the opportunity to use an adjustable and configurable cockpit environment, which they can adjust to custom-made devices within the training module, thus uploading data to the flight simulator even before training begins. This innovative concept is designed to reduce trainee preparation time in the simulator and help pilots stay focused and take full advantage of the training time.

The airline will connect the new building to Emirates' existing training facilities, increasing its annual pilot training potential by 54%. Pilots will have more flexibility and opportunities to improve their piloting skills, thanks to 130 fully equipped simulators that offer a training capacity of over 17 hours per year in all training buildings.

In line with the planned delivery of the first Airbus A350 aircraft, the new center will begin pilot training from June 2024.

In addition to state-of-the-art training facilities for cabin crew, Emirates also offers a range of world-class training and development programs for other staff and aviation professionals. In Dubai, these include the Emirates Flight Training Academy for Cadets, the Emirates Aviation University, the Emirates Cabin Crew Training Center and a host of other programs designed specifically for Emirates employees from different segments.
