Ankara Fire Brigade Rescued 432 People from Debris Returned from Earthquake Zone

Ankara Fire Brigade teams, who went to the earthquake area for search and rescue work, returned to the capital. With the support of K9 dogs Rüzgar and Çakıl, the teams rescued 309 people in Kahramanmaraş and 116 people in Hatay from the rubble. In addition, the other team of ABB, which participated in the search and rescue efforts, pulled 7 people alive from the rubble in Adıyaman.

After the earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and caused great destruction in 10 provinces, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department teams, who went to the region by land and air, completed their search and rescue efforts and returned to the Capital.

Ankara Fire Department rescued 309 people in Kahramanmaraş and 116 people in Hatay with the support of K9 dogs Rüzgâr and Çakıl from under tons of debris. Some of the teams that also intervened in the container fire at the Iskenderun Port continue their duties both in Hatay and Kahramanmaraş.

In addition, the other team of ABB, which participated in the search and rescue efforts, pulled 7 people alive from the rubble in Adıyaman.

HEROES WERE WELCOME TO ANKARA FIRE

Wind and Pebbles were welcomed at Ankara Fire Brigade Central Station with the teams that moved to the region from the moment of the earthquake, participated in search and rescue efforts, rescued many earthquake victims from under the rubble, helped them hold on to life, and returned to the Capital after completing their duties.

Ankara Fire Brigade Department Head Salih Kurumlu said that as Ankara Fire Brigade, they are mobilizing all their teams for the earthquake zones, “We prepared our teams from the first moment we received the news after the earthquake, and we sent them to Kahramanmaraş first, both by air and by road. After Kahramanmaraş, we formed teams again for the fires in Hatay and Iskenderun, as well as for rescue activities. After the end of the search and rescue work, we made our return by obtaining both the statement of AFAD and the permission of our governors from the region. It is important for us that our personnel working in search and rescue operations return in good health.

3 VEHICLES 6 STAFF IN KAHRAMANMARAŞ 33 STAFF 7 VEHICLES ARE ON DUTY IN HATAY

For the search and rescue activities of the Ankara Fire Department, 104 personnel sent 27 vehicles and 2 K9 dogs in Kahramanmaraş, and 152 personnel and 23 vehicles in Hatay. Ankara Fire Department still continues to work with 3 vehicles and 6 personnel in Kahramanmaraş, and 33 personnel and 7 vehicles in Hatay, to intervene in possible fires and debris removal.
