A Second Preliminary Review on the Fatih Table

The original painting of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror signed by Gentine Bellini was the subject of preliminary examination for the second time. There is a familiar signature under the preliminary review request letter sent to IMM. The signatory is Chief Civil Inspector Arif Yıldırım, a former AK Party deputy candidate who was appointed to replace the chief inspector who was disturbed by political interventions while conducting the İBB investigation. Documents related to the purchasing processes of the painting were requested by Yıldırım in an official letter. However, to the request of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which took into account a fabricated notice and sent it to the Istanbul Governor's Office for permission to investigate, the Istanbul Governor's Administration and Audit Directorate replied, “There is no need for an investigation”. On December 2, 27, the Fatih Painting was made the subject of preliminary examination by Chief Civil Inspector Arif Yıldırım, despite these processes. In the new request letter sent to IMM with the signature of Arif Yıldırım, information and documents related to the purchasing processes were requested. Despite the fact that Arif Yıldırım had verbally requested and examined the investigation of the IMM Assembly research commission 2022 times before, it was not encountered any negativity.

The original portrait of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, purchased by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was made the subject of preliminary examination for the second time. With the letter sent to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on 27 December 2022, documents related to the purchase of the historical painting of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, transactions made in accordance with the legislation and payment documents were requested.

SAME NAME AGAIN

Until January 4, 2023, it was requested that the documents or their certified 'as-original' copies be forwarded to Civil Inspector Arif Yıldırım and Civil Inspector Hayati Taşdan, who are still conducting investigations at the İBB Bakırköy Service Building. Arif Yıldırım, who was recently appointed as the Chief Inspector of the IMM investigation, Ekrem İmamoğluHe was the person who opened 28 different special investigations about his term in Beylikdüzü Municipality after the İBB candidacy was finalized, but could not find any contradiction. Arif Yıldırım was appointed to replace the head of the delegation, who was disturbed by political results while he was at the beginning of the İBB investigations and resigned.

Arif Yıldırım, who was the AK Party Mersin Deputy candidate in 2015, and today's Chief Inspector of Civil Affairs, in his new position, is the President of IMM. Ekrem İmamoğlu He prepared a 578-page report and sent it to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Despite Arif Yıldırım's review of the Fatih painting three times after the Governor's Office and the parliamentary inspection commission, no violation of the legislation was found. However, the request was officially renewed. Already reviewed documents were requested again. Inspectors, who are trying to find something, will examine the files for the 3rd time.

SAME REQUEST AFTER 2 YEARS

The painting purchased by IMM has been the subject of preliminary examination before. The Istanbul Governor's Office Administrative and Inspection Directorate did not consider the investigation request from the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office on 22 December 2020 necessary after the preliminary examination. No deficiencies or violations of the legislation could be detected regarding the auction and purchasing processes, which were transparent from the very beginning. After 2 years, the Chief Inspector of Civil Service, Arif Yıldırım, who was assigned to the İBB, renewed the request. As a result of the documents and preliminary examination that he could easily obtain from the Istanbul Governor's Office, he made the same request while still in the archives.
