Zero-emission trambuses equipped with local and national technology, which were brought to the city with the initiatives of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül, went on a test drive in Şanlıurfa. Mayor Beyazgül said that trambuses will start to operate on the streets of Şanlıurfa.
“Turkey's first domestic and national high-tech battery-powered Trambus” went on a test drive on the streets of Şanlıurfa. The joy of the citizens, who saw the trambuses brought to Şanlıurfa with the initiatives of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül, did not go unnoticed.
A fleet of 12 vehicles specially produced for Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, designed and produced by 100% Turkish engineering, and the passenger-carrying trambuses, which can reach a maximum range of 50 kilometers with their batteries without being connected to the catenary line, have started to arrive in Şanlıurfa.
When all of the trambuses that started test drives on the determined route in Şanlıurfa arrive, new generation local and national zero-emission trambuses will serve instead of the articulated buses on the designated ring lines.
The daily passenger carrying capacity of the trambus, which can accommodate a total of 160 people, is 95 thousand, and the seated passenger capacity is 32 percent. Thanks to the on-board smart software, security and vehicle maintenance periods will be monitored remotely.
Trambuses, which will save both time, fuel and maintenance costs, will provide fuel savings of up to 40 percent in one day compared to diesel vehicles.

Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül, who participated in the test drive of the trambuses coming to Şanlıurfa, said that zero-emission domestic and national trambuses will start to serve at the zero point of history.
President Beyazgül said, “We participated in the first test drive of our trambus. We took a tour of Şanlıurfa Avenue and its streets. In this city, which is the starting point of history, our trambuses with zero emissions are the transportation vehicles of the future. With these trambuses, a different beauty will be created in our city. It will make a separate contribution to transportation. Our trambuses are now on duty here. And it suits Şanlıurfa very well. First, two trambuses came to our city. If other trambuses arrive, we will put our 12 trambuses into service on the designated ring line. We will put these trambuses into service instead of the articulated buses we have commissioned on the ring line in the old Urfa region. Good luck to our şanlıurfa. Hopefully, we will continue to bring many more beauties to our city. Before that, we opened our Abide junction. We brought many services to Şanlıurfa.

During the test drive, Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül was accompanied by District Mayors, MKYK member Vidan Polat, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Faruk Bayuk, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Ahmet Kaytan and council members.
District mayors, who made evaluations in the trambus, and the guests who participated in the test drive, thanked Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül by stating that Şanlıurfa has stepped into a new era and that important investments have been made in the city.
