In the International Red Crescent Friendship Short Film Festival, which set out with the intention of re-reading the concept of 'Friendship' through cinema, thinking and increasing its reflections in our lives, the awards were presented to their owners with a ceremony held at Atlas 1948 Cinema.

The award ceremony opened with the concert of 3 Alpine bands from Kırşehir. Making the opening speech, Festival President Faysal Soysal said, “5. We would like to thank you for your presence and for not leaving us alone at our festival, which we have organized for the first time this year. Believing in a dream, dreaming about it, and passing it on to future generations in an art form is one of the most sublime human deeds. What kind of life would we live without our artists? What a barren, arid and meaningless place we would be dragged into. The world is shaped by conflicts, capitalism and not knowing each other and destroying each other. There is great ambition and competition. The poor, the oppressed and those in need of help have no branch to hold on to. Artists present their problems and world to us with universal art forms. This year, we received 48 films from 522 countries of the world. He sent us his films about correcting and making sense of things, and getting to know the other through empathy. I want to thank all of them in your presence. We tried to bring you 48 films and 16 documentaries. Within the scope of the festival, a short film workshop and a post-production workshop were held with the support of Fono Film. In addition, we hosted our esteemed guests Ercan Kesal and Adnan Özer in important panels. At the opening, we talked about friendship and Neşet Ertaş, with the presentation of Atalay Taşdiken's document "Ah Yalan Dünya". Behind them is a great team and six months of effort. Many thanks to those who supported. We would like to thank everyone who strengthened their friendship with cinema with their films at this festival.”

Kerem Kınık: “We want friendship to be talked about the most”

Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık said, “We continue this art journey, which we started so that friendship will win, by gaining friends and expanding the channel of friendship. We are doing the 5th together. We need friendship the most, we want friendship to be talked about the most. That's why the Red Crescent crescent is here, included in this festival. Today, 100 million people who have left their homes and countries at gunpoint are looking for friends. 280 million immigrants who have left their country for economic reasons are looking for friends. Babies who open their eyes on migration journeys or in tents are looking for friends. 1 billion people who lay their heads on the pillows hungry every night, 200 million children who cannot go to school are looking for friends. Even though slavery is over, 25 million people who are bought and sold for money are looking for friends. Today we need friendship, human solidarity more than every day. If we have embraced millions of people in our country today and if human hospitality can continue, it is due to the friendship view of these lands and the "voluntary" breadth of Neşet Baba. The window of art is much more effective and real. From our point of view, it is a great tool for institutions that try to protect their dignity with human rights and try to meet their needs. That's why we're here. We would like to thank all our artists, all institutions and organizations that supported this, and those who contributed to this.”

Ahmet Misbah Demircan: “Films are the carrier of our cultural heritage”

Ahmet Misbah Demircan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism; “Our first duty is to protect our tangible heritage and the other is to protect our intangible heritage and pass it on to future generations. While doing these, books, theater, opera, but mostly cinema help. Because it gives us a great opportunity to shoot millions of billions of people with great effort. Turkish culture is watched and followed from all over the world with its works, and many people even learn Turkish. All the films made, whether short or long, are the carriers of the tangible and intangible heritage of our culture. From this perspective, I would like to thank all the stakeholders of the cinema industry.” said.

“Our flag that carries the conscience of this society to the whole world is our Red Crescent”

Demircan stated that the issue of whether civilization and culture bring goodness or enmity to humanity is the point we have reached; “Yunus Emre has a quatrain that we all know. Science is knowing science, science is knowing yourself. Science is knowing yourself. What is yourself? Our conscience, our voice from our heart, our sense of humanity that we bring from our soul. Anatolian culture teaches people to listen to the voice of the heart and to the voice of conscience. You don't know yourself, is this a nice read? If you haven't learned to listen to the voice of your heart and the voice of your conscience, this is friendship, this is kindness, brotherhood, then the sciences you study are meaningless. If we have a flag that carries the conscience and heart of this society to the whole world, it is our Red Crescent. While doing the film festival, friendship was not in vain. Friendship, listening to the voice of conscience is our own culture. It is also admirable that our Red Crescent, while helping the whole world, does not neglect to wave the flag of friendship and crown it with a film festival, and deserves applause. This year it is held in memory of Neşet Ertaş. What does Neset Ertaş say? Let no obstacles come in between, let a friend be an ointment to the wound. We came to the world for friends. with friend sohbet let's. We're here for friends. with friend sohbet Let's do it," he concluded.
