10 Cruise Ships Docked at Turkish Ports in 907 Months

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu announced that the number of cruise ships docking at ports reached 10 in the 907-month period of this year, and a total of 918 cruise passengers were hosted.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu announced the cruise ship statistics for the January-October period of 2022. Expressing that the activity in cruise tourism continues, Karaismailoğlu noted that there has been a serious increase in the number of tourists.

Noting that 2021 passengers came to Turkey with 10 cruise ships in the 53-month period of 35, Karaismailoğlu stated that in the same period of this year, the number of cruise ships increased more than 121 times to 17. Karaismailoğlu announced that the number of cruise passengers increased by 907 times in the same period and reached 26 thousand 918.

THIS YEAR'S HIGHEST NUMBERS REACHED WITH 206 PASSENGERS IN OCTOBER

Pointing out that more cruise ships docked at Turkish ports in October this year than last year, Karaismailoğlu noted that in October, 155 passengers were hosted with 206 cruise ships, and that the highest number of passengers of this year was reached in October.

Pointing out that Kuşadası is the port that hosts the most cruise ships with 10 ships and 350 thousand 456 passengers in the first 335 months of this year, Karaismailoğlu stated that 132 ships approached Galataport Port, which was chosen as the port of the year, in the same period and 225 thousand 907 cruise passengers were hosted. Stating that Bodrum Port ranks third with 85 ships and 86 thousand 455 cruise passengers, Karaismailoğlu stated that Sinop, Amasra and Trabzon also attract attention in cruise tourism. Transport Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “A total of 10 thousand 10 passengers came to Sinop with 7 cruise ships in the 906-month period. While 3 ships docked at Amasra Port, we hosted 4 passengers. It was determined that 729 thousand 3 cruise tourists came to Trabzon with 4 ships.
